The Missouri Nurses Association is committed to promoting diversity within our membership and leadership and promoting access to quality nursing care for all patients. We know that not only does discrimination interfere with the ability of individuals to access proper and equal medical care, it also represents a pervasive barrier to educational, economic, and social success. The Missouri Nurses Association is rolling out a Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Taskforce is to develop and promote strategies and best practices within the nursing community in the state of Missouri.
Our goal is twofold:
- To guide the MONA in making internal changes with specific, actionable steps to further address matters of diversity, equity, and inclusion within our organization.
- Make recommendations for support and development of equity and inclusion practices that will eliminate discrimination and ignorance in our larger nursing community.
Thanks to the generous support of the Missouri Foundation for Health, we will be holding both virtual and in person meetings for this taskforce. Interested in applying to the task force? Please fill out the below application for consideration. You DO NOT have to be a member of the Missouri Nurses Association to apply for or participate in the taskforce. All applications will be reviewed by our practice committee and a taskforce of approximately 10 nurses will be chosen to participate.
