The Missouri Nurses Association is presenting an event with State Rep. Patty Lewis for an advocacy and legislative update. The meeting will also cover how to talk legislators. The event is hosted at Research Medical Center in the Clinical Excellence Classroom on Thursday, February 23rd from 6-8 pm.

This legislative session MONA is partnering with nursing groups to hold weekly capitol visits and legislators are already noticing an increased presence from nurses in the halls of the State Capitol. If talking to legislators is intimidating then this is the event for you! We know the more nurses walk the halls and share their stories with legislators, the more effective we can be in our advocacy.

Representative Patty Lewis (D-Jackson County) is the only nurse legislator in Jefferson City so it will be great to hear directly from her about what is going on in Jefferson City and the best ways to talk to legislators. You will leave this event better prepared to advocate on issues that matter to Missouri Nurses.
