During this presentation, attendees will learn about the art of Doula work, its origins, and how it relates to today’s times. We will dive into infant/maternal mortality rates and how doulas are effective in helping to lower those rates. This presentation will also touch on how to become trained, certification routes, and more.

LaKisha Redditt is owner of Virtuously B’Earthed Doula Services where she serves as Doula (Birth, Postpartum, Bereavement), Placenta Encapsulation Specialist and Instructor, Belly Binding Artist, and more. She is a Certified Community Health Worker. She serves as Chair of the St. Louis Doula Project and Board of Leaders Member of the St. Louis Community Health Worker Coalition. LaKisha is also a Womb Wellness Facilitator and Women’s Health Herbalist Training through Indigenous Remedies. She seeks to bring tradition back to the communities she serves, through education, training, and awareness efforts
