Wellness for Warriors Program – SW Region Webinar
Helping Heroes: Active Military, Veterans, First Responders and Their Families
Many public service men and women don’t know how to find the health care they need. More than 60% of Missouri veterans are over 55 and nearing Medicare eligibility. In 2016, Veterans Affairs (VA) reported that the suicide rate was one-and-a-half times higher for veterans than non-veterans. While military veterans have access to VA support, first responders don’t have a similar support program. And many public service men and women need wellness help they can’t get from their organization.
Wellness for Warriors helps first responders and military men and women find that help. We’re dedicated to the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual wellness of active and retired first responders, active military, veterans, and their families. We provide resources not usually offered through public safety and military organizations, like crisis support, counseling and wellness classes. We also help build support networks and promote community awareness by offering health care systems a look into the health state of our first responders and veterans.
